What warranty comes with a Acura replacement battery?
The battery is backed by a 60-month, unlimited mileage warranty. During the first 24 months, the battery and labour are covered 100%. During months 25 through 60, the replacement cost of the battery is pro-rated. A battery tester will ensure that the battery has failed, but if does within 24 months, parts and labour are covered with no cost to you. Conditions apply*.
What will a battery test from my Acura dealer show?
Acura battery tests report on:
Cold Cranking Amps: CCA vs what the battery was rated when new. This measures starting power, especially in cold weather. Bigger engines may need more CCA.State of Charge: Shows current voltage, like the battery indicator on your phone. Not a strong health indicator on its own.
State of Health: Reports battery's overall ability to produce Cold Cranking Amps and Voltage, relative to rated performance. Battery health is useful in determining when a replacement should be considered.
Why isn’t battery voltage enough to judge battery health?
Voltage shows how charged a battery is, not how healthy it is. An unhealthy battery that's fully charged may not have the ability to deliver enough current to start your vehicle.
Can a fully charged battery still be worn out?
Yes. A battery can show 100% charge but still have poor health, and a limited capacity to provide rated amps - like a phone battery that drains quickly. A full test is the only way to know for sure.
