MARKHAM, ON (August 1, 2012) – Combined July sales of 11,184 units by the Honda and Acura divisions of Honda Canada Inc. represented a 27% increase over last year’s sales. The Honda Automobile Division reported July sales of 9,604 units, up 26% from last year, led by record sales of Honda CR-V (up 89%). The Acura Division reported July sales of 1,580 units, up 36% over last year, with strong sales of Acura RDX (up 74%) and TL (up 66%).

“We are pleased our compact SUVs continue to be popular in the Canadian market.  The all-new Honda CR-V and the Acura RDX have recorded best monthly sales for four consecutive months,” said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president, Honda Canada Inc.

"We thank Canadians for continuing to embrace Civic, which remains the number one selling passenger car in Canada," added Chenkin.

Honda Canada has sold approximately 3.6 million Honda and Acura passenger cars and light-duty trucks in Canada since 1973. Of all Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada in July, 94% were produced at the company’s assembly plants in North America.
