I understand that Acura, its affiliates, Dealers and service providers collect, use and disclose my personal information for the purposes of (i) completing my purchase, finance or lease transaction; (ii) maintaining my warranty and customer service records; (iii) conducting customer service campaigns; (iv) providing me with marketing information; and (v) for legal and other business purposes. I consent to Acura, its affiliates, Dealers and service providers contacting me by telephone or sending commercial electronic messages to me, including email and text messages. Acura, a division of Honda Canada Inc. (“Acura”) sells Acura brand products and services (“Products and Services”) in Canada. Acura is committed to ensuring that personal information collected from its customers is appropriately protected and that their privacy is respected. Acura makes every effort to ensure that customers understand the nature, purpose and consequences of the collection, use or disclosure of their personal information.

- 1. Why does Acura Collect Personal Information?
Acura collects your personal information in order to:
(a) complete your transaction for the purchase, finance or lease of Products and Services;
(b) maintain our records to provide you with warranty or other customer service communications;
(c) advise you of any product recalls, customer campaigns, or customer notices regarding your vehicle;
(d) market products and services to you;
(e) respond to your comments or requests for information;
(f) administer telematics services;
(g) meet our legal obligations and
(h) other legitimate business purposes.
Acura will not sell, trade, or rent your information to others.
- 2. What Personal Information Does Acura Collect
Acura collects information necessary for the purposes stated above that will enable it to identify you, including your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number(s), type of Acura products owned, and purchase and repair history of Products and Services. Acura collects this information directly from you, our affiliates, Dealers, service providers, and onboard vehicle systems.

Acura collects this information directly from you, our affiliates, Dealers, service providers, and onboard
vehicle systems (such as event Data Recorders and telematics systems). Information may be collected
at the point of purchase or service, through customer surveys, when you make customer service
inquiries, when Acura responds to your requests for information, when you visit Acura web sites, or, in
the case of information from an onboard vehicle system, when you use your vehicle.
- 4. How Does Acura Use and Share Your Personal Information?
Acura may share your personal information with its affiliates, such as Honda Finance, dealers or its
service providers. Acura may disclose your personal information as required by law, in connection with a
government inquiry, law enforcement activities or in litigation or dispute resolution. Acura will only send
email, text or other electronic messages to you with your express consent (unless you have directed us
not to do so), or with your implied consent if you have requested information, or if you have a service
contract or existing product warranty with Acura.
- 5. Acura Safeguards Your Personal Information
Acura will not sell, trade, or rent your information to others.
Acura follows industry standards and takes appropriate security and other measures to preserve the
confidentiality of your personal information and to ensure that it is used for the intended purposes. Acura
retains your personal information only as long as necessary or relevant for the identified purposes or as
required by law. Acura requires that its service providers with access to your personal information keep
this information strictly confidential and they are only permitted to use your personal information for the
sole purpose of carrying out services for Acura.
Your personal information may be stored and/or processed or otherwise used by or on behalf of Acura both inside and outside of Canada. If an Acura service provider is located outside Canada, your personal information may be processed and stored in a country that has laws that are different from those in Canada, and where the government (e.g. the United States) may be able to obtain disclosure of your personal information under their local laws.
While Acura encourages its Dealers to fully comply with all applicable privacy legislation, each Dealership is a separate legal entity, independent from Acura, and is responsible for their own compliance with applicable law.
- 6. Online Analytics and Interest Based Advertising
Acura and its third-party service providers (i.e. advertising partners and analytics providers) may use web tracking tools (e.g. cookies, web beacons, pixels and other technologies) to collect information about your online activity over time and across websites. Acura and its analytics providers may use this information to understand how you navigate Acura’s websites and respond to promotional communications. Acura and its advertising partners may use this information to deliver future targeted advertisements to you when you visit non-Acura websites within their networks.
Most browsers can be configured not to accept cookies. However, this may prevent you from having access to certain functions and services on Acura websites. You may also set your email options to prevent the automatic downloading of images that may contain technologies that would allow Acura to know whether you have accessed Acura emails and performed certain functions with them.

AcuraLink Privacy Overview
What Kind of Information We Collect
In providing the AcuraLink service to you, we collect and retain certain information from you, including personal information you provide to us when you enter into the AcuraLink agreement. In addition, in providing the AcuraLink service to you, we may collect and retain an electronic copy or other form of record of certain information, including: (1) Vehicle Personal Information, including your vehicle’s description, location, speed, direction of travel, time of travel; (2) Vehicle Technical Information, including service data, mechanical condition or incidents involving your Vehicle; (3) your Search Content; (4) Account Access Information, including information about anyone making an AcuraLink call from your Vehicle or under your account; and (5) Call History Information, including the date, time and duration of call and any Response Specialist’s notes written during a call.
Why We Collect Personal Information
We collect your personal information for the following purposes: (1) to complete your purchase, finance or lease transaction; (2) to maintain your warranty and customer service records; (3) to conduct customer service campaigns; (4) to provide you with marketing information; (5) to provide you with the AcuraLink services; (6) for legal purposes; and (7) for other business purposes.
How Your Information May Be Shared with Acura’s Service Providers
We will not sell, trade, or rent your information to others without your consent.
Recording and Monitoring
However, we may disclose information which is not identifiable to you as necessary with third parties for purposes of analysis and research in order to better our services. All Service Providers are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential if it is identifiable to you and may only use such information for the purpose of providing the AcuraLink service and maintaining your account as we direct. We may also disclose information to individuals designated by you to be contacted in an emergency. These individuals are identified by you during the enrollment process. The list of emergency contacts on file may be changed by calling by calling 1-855-335-5465.
You agree and understand that we may record or monitor any of the information identified above when generated by the AcuraLink system. Your vehicle may also be equipped with sensing or diagnostic modules capable of automatically retrieving, recording, transmitting, or storing certain vehicle data. For example, when an airbag is deployed certain data generated by the vehicle is automatically transmitted to notify our Response Specialists of the event.
How We Store Your Information
For quality assurance purposes, we or our Service Providers may monitor and record conversations between our and their respective service centres and your vehicle’s occupants, as well as any conversations between our and their service centres and you or others contacting the service centres to discuss your account outside of the Vehicle.
The AcuraLink file containing your personal information will be held securely in our offices, and in some cases those of our Service Providers. Only our employees and those of the Service Providers who require it for the purposes of their duties will have access to your file.
How to Access Your Information
You may update the information you provide us at any time by calling 1-855-335-5465 and, to the extent provided by law, you may request to have access and to correct your file by writing us at our mailing address or calling our customer care telephone number provided above. You may also contact us to withdraw or limit your consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your personal information.
Please note, however, that due to the nature of the AcuraLink services, in some cases withdrawing consent may also require the termination of AcuraLink services as some of the systems must generate certain types of data in order to function (outlined below). The terms of termination outlined in the enrollment terms and conditions would apply in this case.
